Mounties Beat Rams in 3 Sets
(Sackville, NB) The Dalhousie AC Rams were in Sackville on Sunday to take on the Mount Allison Mounties in ACAA Women's Volleyball action.
The Mounties started the first set with 5 of the first 7 points. Big kills from Mya Artibello and Emma Burns helped Mount Allison maintain the lead throughout most of the set. A late rally from the Rams with excellent serving and a big kill from Ashley Rideout was cut short by Mountie Erica Astephen's kill to win the set 25-18.
The second set started with multiple lead changes while both teams tried to get their footing. Dal AC's Callie Immerkar was excellent and served four straight points for the Rams, including back-to-back aces, to bring the visiting side back to a tie game. Ana McCain brought the second set to a close with three straight Mountie points including a big ace. The second set ended 25-22.
Mount Allison maintained their momentum into the third set as they opened a 16-9 lead. The Rams were able to claw their way back into the set with some timely blocks and setting courtesy of Leah Jollimore. Mount Allison's Isabel Crouse closed the door with back-to-back aces as the Mounties won the third set 25-18, taking the game 3 sets to 0.
