
Blue Devils Victorious in Straight Sets over Mounties
(SACKVILLE, NB) The Mount Allison Mounties women's volleyball team was back in action at the McCormack Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon as they took on the undefeated UKC Blue Devils.
The visiting Blue Devils took advantage early on getting 14 kills in the first set and winning the set 25-20.
The home Mounties were stronger in the second set and held a lead late into the set, however UKC was able to go on a fiery run at the end of the set to take the set by a score of 27-25.
UKC used the momentum from the first two set wins to keep the home Mounties and the crowd at bay in the third and final set, taking that by a score of 25-18.
Top performers for the Blue Devils were Halle Andreasen (Regina, SK) with 9 kills and Maya Lees (Lumsden, SK) with 6 kills. Players of the match for the Mounties were Chloe Nichols (White Rock, NS) with 9 kills and Emma Burns (Fredericton, NB) with 8 kills.
UKC (4-0) will be back on the court tomorrow afternoon, November 19th at home as they take on the Crandall Chargers in Halifax with first serve set for 1:00pm. Mount Allison (2-2) are back in action on Saturday, November 25th at home as they take on the Université de Sainte-Anne Dragons.
