(SACKVILLE, NB) In what was the first game in the renovated McCormack Gymnasium, the Mount Saint Vincent Mystics beat the hometown Mounties three sets to one (25-23, 26-24, 23-25, 25-22).
Leading the way offensively for MSVU was Marcy McNeil (Port Hawkesbury, NS) and Catherine McPhail (Halifax, NS) with ten and seven kills respectively. Setter Mckenzie Antle (Bishop's Falls, NL) added 26 assists while rookie Cela MacLellan (Sydney, NS) poured in eight service aces for the Mystics.
The Mounties were led by Chloe Nichols (White Rock, NS) who registered 12 kills and ten digs and Julia Henry (Red Point, PEI) with eight kills and 12 digs. Three other Mounties pitched in with five kills a piece, while setter Logan Tait (Saint John, NB) contributed 31 assists.
Mount Allison (5-5) will travel to the Island on Sunday to take on Holland College for a 1 p.m. tip-off.
MSVU (8-2) for their part host St. Thomas at noon on Sunday.
