Women's Volleyball Mounties Welcome Danielle Cumby
The Mount Allison University Women’s Volleyball team is proud to announce our latest committed athlete, Danielle Cumby. Danielle is a 5’ 10 middle from Canaan, Nova Scotia. For the past 4 years Danielle has been a member of the Horton High Varsity volleyball team. She has also competed for Team NS and is a part of the Performance Excellence Program. Danielle has also been a member of the 18u Axe club program for the last two seasons.
“I am very excited to have Danielle join the Mounties program; she is a very talented Middle attacker with a high volleyball IQ. She is someone who gives us depth in the middle. She’s got a tough serve that can steal 3-4 points on a service run. She’s an excellent middle blocker and is a very strong attacker. She is still a threat if the setters off the net. Danielle is a smart volleyball player and will be an exceptional addition to the ‘Culture’ of the program here at Mount Allison University.” states Coach Crouse.
Here are a few words from Danielle's high school coach Michele Jefferies about Danielle’s commitment. “Danielle Cumby is any coach’s dream. She is a consummate teammate with a practice work ethic that leads the team. Danielle is a triple threat on the court as an attacker, middle blocker and server. Danielle is a fierce competitor with a winning mindset. Danielle will make an impact at Mount A and not just as an athlete. She could teach you a few dance moves too! I am going to miss this one. I am so excited for you, she and Ella are a force to be reckoned with.”
Danielle joins former Horton High Griffins Chloe Nichols and Sarah Macinnis as the third recruit in three years to join the program.
