Mounties finish 1st half with 6 game win streak
The Mount Allison Mounties defeated the St. Thomas Tommies 3-1 at home on Sunday. This completes a first half of the season that saw the Mounties go 7-1 and build a 6 game win streak heading into the Christmas break.
Sunday matched featured two 6-1 teams who were tied in the ACAA women's volleyball standings heading into the game. The Tommies drew first blood as they picked up a 26-24 win in the first set.
The Mounties grabbed the momentum back in the second set, picking up a 25-17 win. From their the Mounties continued to roll, winning 25-18 and the 3rd set and 25-16 in the 4th and deciding set.
It was once again Jadyn Boyles, Sophie Landry and Anna Manuel who led the attack for the Mounties. Boyles had 15 kills on the day while Landry had 14 and Manuel had 13.
Maddie MacGregor led all Tommies with 10 kills.
The Mounties finish the first half at 7-1 and sit in a tie for first place with the Holland Hurricanes. The Tommies will enter the Christmas break at 6-2.
