Mounties fall to Holland in first match of the season

The defending ACAA champion Holland Hurricanes picked up a 3-1 victory over the Mount Allison Mounties at the McCormack gymnasium on Wednesday night. The match was a rematch of the 2019 ACAA women's volleyball championship game, the last time the championship was awarded prior to the pandemic.

Holland open the match with a 25-21 first set win as the two teams battled with high level volleyball. The 2nd set was another close one as the Hurricanes once again took the set, this time winining 25-20. 

The Mounties would answer back in the 3rd with the biggest margin for a set win of the match, this time winning 25-13. The 4th set also did not disappoint, going right down to the wire before Holland emerged with a 25-21 victory.

With the win the Hurricanes move to 2-0 to start the season while the Mounties sit at 1-1 after 2 matches.
