(SACKVILLE, NB) The Mount Allison Mounties women's soccer team returned to Alumni Field on Saturday afternoon to play host to the UNB Reds.
The visitors would be the ones to break the scoring open in this one in the 17th minute as Heidi Lauwerijssen beat the Mountie keeper to put UNB ahead 1-0, a scoreline that would remain through the end of the first half.
Despite multiple chances for both sides in the second half, neither team was able to change the 1-0 scoreline from the first half, and the three points would push UNB to the top of the table.
UNB (8-2-0, 1st in the conference) play their next match on Wednesday, October 16th on the road against Moncton with kick-off set for 5:00pm. Mount Allison (0-7-2, 10th in the conference) will return to Alumni Field tomorrow, October 6th at 1:00pm for their Senior Day match.
