(SACKVILLE, NB) The Mount Allison Mounties women's soccer team returned to Alumni Field for their first regular season action of the year against the Acadia Axewomen on a beautiful Friday evening in Sackville.
The visitors would get off to a blistering start, with their 3 goals in the match all coming in the first 15 minutes. Taylor Kay found the scoresheet in the 4th minutes followed by two goals from Alli Kelly in the 8th and 15threspectively, as the teams would head into the break with Acadia leading 3-0.
Better play from the Mounties in the second half kept the Axewomen from adding to their tally, and a well-crafted set piece found the head of Maeve Williams in the 88th minute as her header would be the Mounties first goal of the season and the final action of the game as the bout would end 3-1 in favour of Acadia.
