The Mount Allison Mounties earned their first win of the young AUS women's soccer season when they rolled into Halifax and beat Saint Mary's 2-0 on Saturday.
After a scoreless first half, the Mounties grabbed the lead in the 56th minute when sophomore Katherine Ollerhead (Wood Point, NB) found the back of the net for her first of the season. The Mounties added to their lead 14 minutes later when Pascale Haidar (Halifax, NS) scored her first goal.
Mounties keeper Tessa Ritchie (Ottawa, ON) earned a shutdown in the win. The 4th year senior who has played all 3 games for the Mounties so far made 7 saves en route to her first shutout of the season. Ritchie was a 2nd team AUS All-Star in 2015.
The Mounties go right back to work on Sunday as the return to Alumni Field to host the Cape Breton Capers at 1PM. This game can be seen live on www.austv.ca
