Mounties Open AUS pre-season with 2-2 tie against Acadia
The Mount Allison Mounties women's soccer team opened the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) pre-season on Tuesday with a solid 2-2 tie against the Acadia Axewomen at Alumni Field.
"We are pleased with this game as our start to the season," commented Mounties Head Coach Gene Ouellette. "We tried a lot of different things today to get a feel for what might work during the regular season."
It was a pair of sophomore New Brunswickers who led the Mounties today as Katherine Ollerhead (Wood Point, NB) and Taryn MacMillan (Moncton, NB) were the goal scorer for the home side. Katie Ross and Michelle Pryde scored for the Axewomen.
The Mounties continue training camp this week in preparation for exhibition games against UNB on Saturday, September 3rd (5PM) and Sunday, September 4th (3PM) against UdeM. Both games will be played at Alumni Field.
The Mounties will open the AUS regular season at home on Friday, September 9th (5PM) against UdeM.
