Warren Mason joined the Mounties hockey program for the 2012-2013 season as an Assistant Coach. He worked with Zach Ball as a Co-Coach for the 2015-2016 season before accepting the Head Coach position for the 2016-2017 season. Warren has a significant amount of U Sports women’s hockey coaching experience. He has been an Assistant Coach in the AUS since the 2004-2005 season. In that time, he has twice been to the National Championships twice, finishing 5^th and 3^rd respectively.   

Warren grew up in Carman, Manitoba and played as a goaltender for the North Dakota State University-Bottineau as a freshman before leaving the game. He began coaching shortly after in various levels of minor hockey in Manitoba. Warren moved to higher level coaching as goaltending consultant for the St. Boniface Seals Junior B hockey team for a season and then with the Norman Northstars AAA Midget male team in Thompson, MB for 3 years.   

Warren completed his High Performance Level 1 coaching certification in 2011. Warren has been involved in the Hockey New Brunswick (HNB) Program of Excellence for several years in the following capacities:

• Assistant Coach of the Under 15 Female team in 2012.
• Head Coach of the Under 15 Female team in 2013.
• Head Coach of the Under 15 Female team in 2014.
• Head Coach of the Under 18 Female team in 2015.

In 2016 he was an Assistant Coach of Team Atlantic at the National Women’s Under 18 Championship. This past spring Warren was again named Head Coach of HNB Under 18 female team for 2017. He has also been named Assistant Coach of the Under 18 Female hockey team for Team New Brunswick at the Canada Winter Games in 2019.

When asked what the he wants for the team and players Warren responded “My goal every day is to put our team in a position to win by providing the players with the knowledge and skills to do so. Just as important as that though is to make sure that our players love their time here at Mount Allison as a student and an athlete”.
