The Mount Allison Mounties women's hockey team returned to the Tantramar Veterans Memorial Civic Centre on Saturday night after two games away to welcome the UNB Reds to Sackville.
Melanie Drost would open the scoring for the Reds midway through the first period and UNB would hold that 1-0 advantage through the first intermission.
UNB would add two powerplay goals in the second period courtesy of Katelyn Scott and Payton Hargreaves to lead 3-0 at the second intermission.
The visitors would add a fourth at 12:35 in the third period as Melanie Drost scored her second of the game. Hailey Jackson would score the fifth before Drost would complete her hat-trick with under 2 minutes to play.
UNB (12-3-1) play their final game before the break on Saturday, November 30th on the road in Halifax against Saint Mary's with puck drop set for 7:00pm. Mount Allison (1-15-0) have concluded their schedule for 2024 and will return Friday, January 10th at home against StFX, with puck drop set for 7:00pm.
