Mounties Hockey name Kristen Cooze as Interim Head Coach
(SACKVILLE, NB) With the start of the 2023 Winter semester comes a change of leadership as Head Coach Lucrèce O'Neal was relieved of her duties. Stepping in to fill the role on an interim basis is former Mounties Hockey alum Kristen Cooze. Along with her five-year AUS career (2010-2015) as a stalwart on defense, Coach Cooze has nearly 10 years experience as an Assistant Coach with the program.
"It is never easy to make a coaching change, certainly not mid-season but this is one we felt was necessary" said Jacques Bellefleur, Director of Athletics and Recreation. He adds that, "We feel Coach Cooze has proven herself through the years to lead this program for the remainder of the 2022-23 season". A search to find the next Head Coach will commence at season's end.
"I am excited and proud to be taking on the role of Interim Head Coach of the Mounties Women's Hockey program," stated Coach Cooze.
