The Mount Allison Mounties kicked off the final weekend of the first half with a 62-48 win over the St. Thomas Tommies at home on Friday night.
The Mounties built a 14-11 lead by the end of the 1st quarter and would never relinquish the lead. The Mounties won all 4 quarters, adding to their lead as the game progressed. In the 4th quarter they were able to finish off the visiting Tommies.
Sophomore Reese Nowlan led the way for the Mounties, scoring 19 points while adding 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Nowlan was also a perfect 3 for 3 from behind the 3-point arc. Abby Miller added 17 points, while Lauren Furlong had 10 points off the bench for the home side.
Leading the way for the Tommies was Madison Owens who had 19 points in the game.
The Mounties (3-3) complete first half action with a trip to UNBSJ on Sunday.
