The Mount Allison University Women's basketball Mounties hosted and defeated the Crandall Chargers on Saturday 75-50. Leading by 14 at the half, the Mounties never looked back, outscoring Crandall 35-24 in the second half.
The Mounties found scoring help from 10 different players. Second year Mountie from Wood Point, NB Kate Ollerhead had a team 17 points in 21 hard fought minutes off the bench. Kiersten Mangold had 16, and Sarah McGeachy had 9. McGeachy and Kathleen Morrison both had a game high 9 rebounds.
Crandall's Sydnee Balser had a game high 19 points while grabbing 6 rebounds. Maddyson McDonald provided the Chargers with 10 points, while Maddison McHatten had 8.
The Mounties travelled to New Brunswick's capital on Sunday and recorded a 66-43 victory over UNBSJ. Kiersten Mangold and Sarah McGeachy each had 19 points for the Mounties.
