Mounties Swimmers offering Adult Swimming Lessons beginning January 29
Adult Swimming Lessons
Note that all group lessons will be individualized based on your swimming ability, comfort in the water, and your individual goals. We offer instruction for beginners who may be just starting out or swimmers who want help with their stroke technique. Participants set their own goals to develop water confidence and smooth efficient strokes. Lessons are taught by members of the Mount Allison Mounties, and all proceeds benefit the team fundraising.
Group Lessons:
- Beginner Level (Group Size 3-6 persons): Aimed at adults who are not (yet) comfortable in the water. Instruction will include an introduction to floats and glides, breathing techniques, entries to shallow and deep water, and deep water survival skills with and without a PFD.
- Intermediate Level (Group Size 4-8 persons): Adults who are comfortable in deep water, and who are able to swim at least one length of front crawl with correct breathing mechanics, and one length of back crawl. In this class you will focus on refining front and back crawl technique, learn to swim breaststroke and to dive.
- Advanced/stroke development Level (Group Size 4-8 persons): For adults who are proficient swimmers but who are looking to improve and refine their strokes as well as develop fitness and be capable of swimming a "workout". Want to learn butterfly? We can make it happen!
