Kemp Fry Invitational
The Mounties raced at Dalhousie last weekend, with mid-season results showing great promise for the team who are looking at peak performances at AUS Champs in February.
Sebastian Cariaga won the 100 Freestyle with a personal best time of 51.34, and set a new Mounties Team Record in the 100 Butterfly. He placed second in the 50 Freestyle, and 3rd in the 50 Backstroke. Seb was our top scoring swimmer with 60 points overall.
Leading our women's team was Jordan Thomas, who scored 43 points with her with final placings in 400 IM & 50 Breaststroke, and wins in consolation finals in both 100 & 200 Breaststroke events.
Rookie Aaron McDonald was 4th in the 1500 Freestyle and with 41 points was our third place scoring swimmer. He also placed in finals in the 400 Free & 400 IM, posting season best times in both events.
Special mentions should go those swimmers racing in distance events on Friday evening. McDonald was joined by Ryan Duggan in the 1500 Freestyle, while on the Women's side, Makayla Churchill, Miki Williston, Julianne Levesque, Lauren Griffin-Lepine all scored in the 800 Freestyle, placing the Mounties 2nd overall after the Friday evening events. We were unable to maintain this strong start to our team scoring at the meet, but we did have some impressive individual performances.
