Kemp Fry Invitational (Dalhousie) Day 3 Results
The Mount Allison Mounties showed strong results and some impressive improvements competing this past weekend in Halifax against teams from Dalhousie, Acadia, Memorial, and UNB.
An impressive number of individual event performance improvements were posted by our swimmers. Out of a total of 100 races this past weekend, our Mounties posted 52 Lifetime best performances & 86 seasonal bests!
The men's team placed 4th overall, ahead of UNB by 36 points.
Our leading point scorer was Willem Pretorius, racking up 36 points over multiple events and showing his strength in Individual Medley and sprint breaststroke. Ryan Duggan racked up 32 points with a top finish of 4th in the 1500m Freestyle and 7th in the 400 IM.
Haley Fitzgerald & Sebastian Cariaga each racked up 29 points for the team, while the men's team captain Oliver Keith scored 28 points with a top finish of 5th in his specialty event, the 200 Breaststroke,
Also scoring were Caitlin McPherson (19 points), Sarah Dessureault (18 points), Andrew Kuiper (15 points), Andrew Barsoum (14 points), Thea Button (13 points), Grace Farella (17 points), Abigail Flann & Katie Waller, both with 16 points, Madeleine Polsfut (14 points), Paige Piche (12 points), Tannis Nelson (9points), Lindsey Partington (5 points), Callie Dowell (3 points), Josh Wootten & Jill Downey (2 points), Hannah Zettel (1 point).
The Mountie swimmers will be taking a break from competition until the new year and will return to hard training in preparation for the AUS Championships in mid-February.
