(SACKVILLE, NB) The Mount Allison Mounties men's soccer team took to Alumni Field on Sunday afternoon for the final time in 2024 as they played host to the Dalhousie Tigers on a Senior Day which would see them honour three of their own.
The visiting Tigers would strike first in the 38th minute courtesy of Ben Thompson. Dalhousie would not be finished there however as Isaac Geyer scored in the 43rd minute to double the visitors advantage heading back into the locker rooms.
Neither team would find another goal until within 10 minutes of full time when Dalhousie would find the back of the net three times – once each from Jared Ndopedro, Mohammed Tolba, and Bennett Kishchuk. The match would end with the final score 5-0 in favour of the Tigers.
After the match, the Mounties would honour Robin Weiland, Matt Kiropoulos and Paul-Germain Togbo as their three graduating seniors for the 2024 class.
Dalhousie (4-3-3) will be back in action at home in Halifax on Friday, October 18th at 7:15pm against the Cape Breton Capers. Mount Allison (2-8-0) finish their season with a doubleheader at Memorial on October 18th and 19th with both matches kicking off at 7:15pm.
