(SACKVILLE, NB) After an emotional Senior Day ceremony celebrating the Mounties Soccer seniors who will be leaving us at season's end, it was the men's team turn to give the hometown crowd a glimpse of what to expect from this group. Mount Allison would go on to beat Memorial 1-0 and put an end to the streak.
The Mounties would jump out to an early lead with another Tevin Lewis (Nassau, Bahamas) beauty, this time with his left foot. The third-year striker would go on to win Subway Player of the Game in what can only be described as the most meaningful game of his Mounties career.
The Seahawks had no choice but to press often to try and get one back but could not solve first-year keeper James Welsh (Fergus, ON) who was thrust into the starting role after an injury and suspension to two other Mount Allison goalkeepers.
Memorial (2-6-1) will play host to UPEI on October 21 at 7:15 p.m.
Mount Allison (1-6-2) for their part will travel to Moncton on October 22 for a 7:15 p.m. kickoff.
