The Huskies left Sackville New Brunswick with a 4-0 win over the Mount Allison Mounties on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The Mounties fought hard and played a great team oriented game.
SMU who had a surprising loss to UNB 6-0 the day before were keen on opening the scoring which they did in the 19th minute when Mike Bennett found the back of the Mounties net on a hard and accurate shot that Mounties keeper Mike Cormier had no chance on. The Mountie team played well and had some offensive chances in the game but couldn't find the back of the Huskies goal.
SMU were frustrated with the defensive structure of the Mounties hard work team defense but were rewarded again in the 29th minute when Alex Black slipped by Mounties defenders on the left side of field and had a breakaway goal. In the 2nd half in the 65th minute Cian Tousignant Osiadhail scores on a penalty call. In the 69th minute Alex Black would score when he got behind Mounties defense again for his second goal of the game and won AUS Subway player of the game.
