Mounties announce Keith Rowen for 2023-2024 season
Mountie Head Coach Steve Chapman is pleased to announce the addition of Keith Rowen to its basketball program this Fall as part of its 2023-2024 recruiting class. Rowen, a 6'1 point guard, is a native of Ottawa, Ontario and will be pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
Rowen, 20, comes to the Mounties as a very accomplished basketball player and is a strong student athlete. A graduate of St. Matthews High School in Ottawa, Rowen is presently a member of the Champlain Lennoxville College Cougars. Prior to this, Rowen had club experience playing with both 613 Believe and Lennoxville Prep. Commenting on Keith's decision to attend Mount Allison, Coach Chapman added, "Keith arrived on campus as described by his coach and videos we saw. He is a solid player, a great work ethic, can really shoot it, is a rugged defender with a high basketball IQ . He fit in very well with our guys from the onset so we are really looking forward to his contributions moving forward. Keith simply ticked off a lot of boxes for us and we believe he will be a very successful student athlete and contributor for us. We are happy he chose Mount Allison."
Djbril Ngom, coach at Champlain Lennoxville College added: "Keith is a terrific young man. He contributes to winning through a professional approach on and off the court. He is a dynamic scorer, and a great defender but what separates him from many players I have coached is his leadership qualities. Excited to see his development at Mount Allison."
On his decision to attend Mount Allison, Rowen said: "When I visited, it was amazing, I loved every part of campus and Sackville. I knew it was home."
Welcome to Mount Allison Keith!
