Mounties pull away late to beat Seawolves

(SACKVILLE, NB) Mount Allison hosted UNBSJ in Men's Basketball action this afternoon in McCormack Gymnasium. The Mounties would lean on their defensive play in the second half to pull away and beat the Seawolves 87-82.
Tim Ellison (Halifax, NS) on his 20th birthday led the Mounties with yet another double-double going for 21 points and 13 rebounds. Miles Haines-Lacey (Fredericton, NB) provided a spark from the bench as he put up 19 points in only 15 minutes, including some crucial free-throws down the stretch.
Second-year guard Ethan Szemerda (Saint John, NB) with yet another solid performance as he put up 20 points, eight rebounds and four assists for the Seawolves. Sharpshooter Ewan Robertson (Fredericton, NB) went 5-for-8 from three and would finish with 17 points.
UNBSJ (0-16) will next play on February 24 as they host Holland College at 7 p.m.
Mount Allison (9-8) for their part will close out the regular season at home on February 25 as they host St. Thomas for a 3 p.m. start. The Mounties will be honouring their seniors before the game.
