On Saturday, the Mounties used a balanced offensive attack and a tight defense to earn their second win in as many weeks since the NB lock down. With both teams missing players due to injuries, it was the Mounties depth which prevailed to push the Garnet and gold to a key road victory. As part of the teams last home game with Holland, a number of Mountie graduates will be recognized in a pre-tip off ceremony for their contribution to Mount Allison basketball including James French of Moncton, Zachary Boudreau of Sackville, Kingston native Sam Pierson, Fredericton’s Minwoo Park, and Toronto;s Igor Radic. Also graduating are the team’s student therapist Lauren Gray as well as manager Li Zhen Ng. According to coach Steve Chapman, “we have a really special group of excellent student athletes and support staff who have been instrumental to our programs success and to the overall Mount Allison community during their time here. While we will be recognizing them in a team reception after our season, it is important we also salute them on the court in front our fan base, families, and alumni this weekend in their last regular season home court appearance. They are all the epitome of the student athletes we aspire to attract to our program each and every year. It has been a privilege to work alongside of them each and every day and during their time here. Senior’s Day is always both sad and exciting. Sad to see them leave but exciting to see them move on to successful future endeavors which hopefully our program and Mount Allison has contributed towards their preparation of such moving forward”.
Go Mounties!
