The Mount Allison Mounties Men's basketball team remain in first place in Atlantic Colleges Athletic Association league play with a record of 8-1 after a pair of weekend wins. Playing their first games since Nov. 26, the Mounties managed wins over St. Thomas Tommies and Dalhousie Agricultural College Rams this past weekend.
On Saturday the Mounties visited St Thomas and prevailed in a 95-73 win over the home town Tommies. Leading 43-33 at half the Mounties were led by Thomas LeGallais with 18 points, Yanniv Perez with 15, Mack Chisholm 13, James French with 12 and Jeshua Becker with 11.
On Sunday, the Mounties held off a surging Dal AC Rams team 91-79 at MtA's McCormick Gymnasium. Five Mounties, who led 43-36 at half, hit for double figures led by Thomas LeGallais with 19 points, Yanniv Perez with 17, Aram Currie with 15, Jeshua Becker with 13 and Mack Chisholm with 12.
The Mounties next home game is next Saturday, Jan. 13, when they travel to UNBSJ Seawolves in a 4:00pm star.
