Mounties historic season ends at CCAA Nationals
The Mount Allison Mounties men's basketball season came to an end at CCAA Nationals on Saturday with a 95-74 loss to the George Brown Huskies. The Mounties hung tough all afternoon and moved within 9 points in the 4th quarter before eventually falling to the Huskies.
The loss brings to an end a historic season that saw the Mounties go 17-4 and qualify for nationals for the first time in program history. The Mounties played in the ACAA Championship game before an electrified home crowd two weeks ago.
Brad Fuller, playing in his last game as a Mountie, was the offensive leader with 16 points and 9 rebounds. ACAA Rookie of the Year Thomas LeGallais had 13 points while junior Bradley Sanford had 12 points. Sanford was named player of the game for his efforts.
With less than a minute remaining Coach Steve Chapman took seniors Bradley Fuller, Jesse Balser and Alex Chisholm out of the game to a standing ovation from the appreciative Mounties crowd.
