2021-22 Night of the Mounties Football Awards
Mountie’s Football had a remarkable year, losing only one game in the regular season, but unfortunately fell short in the AUS semi-final against Bishops. The Mountie Athletic awards night, known as the Night of the Mounties, was held on March 31st.
Cody Barton was awarded the Offensive Most Valuable Player on the Football team. Barton ranked in the league, finishing 5th in the AUS for receptions.
Daniel Bell was awarded the Defensive Most Valuable Player on the Football team. Bell was also named an AUS All-Star, awarded Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year in the AUS, and named a U Sports Football 1st Team All-Canadian.
Lucas Cormier was presented with the Most Valuable Player Overall on the Football team. Cormier was also named an AUS All-Star this season.
The Rookie of the Year for the Football team was awarded to Owen O’Neal and John Agette. Additionally, Agette was named an AUS All-Star.
Reece Martin was presented with the Overall Male Athlete of the Year award. Martin was also named an AUS All-Star, awarded Outstanding Lineman of the Year in the AUS, and named a U Sports Football 1st Team All-Canadian.
