JOEY’S RESTAURANT FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Mount Allison’s Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that the Joey’s Pizza and Pasta Female Athlete of the Week for September 22^nd-28^th is soccer Mountie Amanda Volcko. Volcko had 2 goals in the Mounties 2-2 tie with 1^st place UNB on the weekend.

The 3^rd year Mountie from Halifax, NS scored both goals on penalty kicks on Saturday, showing poise, particularly on her 2^nd goal that was scored in the 90^th minute to tie the game. Volcko now has 4 goals in 7 games for the Mounties this year. The Mounties are currently in 8^th place and will look to move up the standings when they travel to UdeM on Wednesday, October 1st for a midweek game.
