Rachel Van Gestel - WVB

JOEYS’ FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Mount Allison’s Department of Athletics and Recreation is pleased to announce that Rachel Van Gestel of the women’s volleyball Mounties has been named the Joey’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week of October 29th-November 4th.

Van Gestel, a senior from Lower Onslow, NS was impressive during the Mountie 2-0 weekend where they picked up 3-0 wins against DAL AC on Saturday and UNBSJ on Sunday. Van Gestel had 5 kills during Saturday’s win over the Rams and she followed that up with a 10 kills during Sunday’s win over the Seawolves. 

With the win the Mounties move to 2-1 to start the season.
