JOEY’S PIZZA AND PASTA FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Mount Allison’s Department of Athletics and Recreation is pleased to announce that the Joey’s Pizza and Pasta Female Athlete of the Week for the week of October 20^th-26^th is Emily van Diepen of the women’s soccer and hockey Mounties.

van Diepen, a 4^th year Mounties 2 sport athlete from Morell, PEI, was a big factor in the Mounties 3-0 win over Acadia to finish the AUS soccer season. The Mounties’ Friday night win was Acadia’s first loss of the season and van Diepen scored her 4^th goal of the season as part of the win. The Mounties finished in 8^th place with 3 wins, 6 losses and 4 ties and just 4 points out of the final playoff spot.

After the soccer season concluded Friday, van Diepen suited up with the women’s hockey Mounties for their 1-0 OT loss to StFX on Saturday and their 7-2 loss at SMU on Sunday.
