JOEY’S RESTAURANT MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Mount Allison’s Department of Athletics and Recreation is pleased to announce that sophomore Mountie Rodreke Joseph is the Joey’s Restaurant Male Athlete of the Week for the week of September 1st-7th.
The 6’2” wide receiver from Toronto, ON helped the defending AUS football champions continue their winning ways as he led the way in a 20-12 week 1 victory for the Mounties over the Acadia Axemen. Joseph had 8 catches for 98 yards and 1 touchdown. His touchdown proved to be the pivotal play of the game as he took a short completion and turned it into a 55 yard touchdown with 2 minutes gone in the 4th quarter. At the time this gave the Mounties a 20-6 lead and the cushion they needed for the victory. Joseph and his teammates now travel to StFX on Saturday.
The other nominee for the Male Athlete of the Week was Federico Mora of the Men’s soccer teams. The Mounties captain helped the home squad to a gutsy 1-0 victory over StFX at MacAulay field on Saturday.
