Mount Allison’s Department of Athletics and Recreation is pleased to announce that Emma Schurman (women’s hockey) is named the Joey’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week of January 5-13.

After three scoreless periods vs. Dal, Schurman ended the game with a rocket to the top corner, securing a 1-0 OT win for the Mounties — their second OT game in as many days. From Oakville, ON, Schurman is a third-year Commerce student and an assistant captain of the team.

The win gave the Mounties 3 of 4 points on the opening weekend of the second half of the season. The team heads to Dal for a rematch in Halifax on Saturday night, January 18, 7 p.m.
