Mounties fall to Mystics in five-set thriller

(SACKVILLE, NB) Mount Allison welcomed MSVU on Friday evening in what was the last home game of the season for the Mounties women's volleyball team. MSVU would go on to win a back-and-forth affair in five sets (27-29, 25-21, 15-25, 25-20, 15-12).
The Mounties were led offensively by the trio of Mya Artibello (Antigonish, NS), Emma Burns (Fredericton, NB), and Chloe Nichols (White Rock, NS), with 13 kills and 18 digs, 12 kills and 18 digs, and 12 kills, 16 digs and 5 service aces, respectively. Stalwart setter Logan Tait (Saint John, NB) would add 38 assists and 11 digs.
The Mystics for their part were led by Marcy MacNeil (Port Hawkesbury, NS) with 11 kills and 12 digs, as well as Madyson Parlee (Fall River, NS) with 10 kills and 18 digs. A solid passing game for Mackenzie Antler (Bishops Falls, NL) with 33 assists who would also add 11 digs.
Both teams are back in action tomorrow as MSVU (13-3) host Université Sainte-Anne at 1 p.m. and the Mounties (13-4) are travelling to Holland for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
