2021-22 Night of the Mounties Men's Basketball Awards
The Mounties Men’s Basketball team, ACAA defending champions, had a successful season despite falling short in their quarter final match up against MSVU. They took home a lot of awards from the Night of the Mounties held on March 31st.
Sam Pierson, from Kingston, Ontario was awarded the Most Valuable Player for the Men’s Basketball Team. Pierson was also named a 2022 CCAA Men’s Basketball All-Canadian.
The Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Year for the 2021-2022 season was presented to point guard, Jonas Munroe, from Moncton, New Brunswick.
Minwoo Park, from Fredericton, New Brunswick, received the Overall Male Scholar Athlete award. This award is given to a male athlete who has shown extraordinary accomplishments both academically and athletically.
Graduating player, James French was presented the Harvey Gilmour Sportsmanship Award. This award is given to a male varsity athlete that puts their heart and soul into every practice and game while continually making positive contributions to the team.
As for staff awards, Noah Lenehan was named the Overall Men’s Team Manager of the Year and Lauren Gray was presented with the Overall Distinguished Therapy Award.
