Mounties stun 2nd place Kings with 81-80 win
The Mount Allison Mounties treated the home crowd to a dramatic come from behind 81-80 victory over the 2nd place University of Kings College Blue Devils on Tuesday night. The Mounties got clutch 3-pointers from Alex Chisholm and Brad Fuller late in the 4th to snatch victory.
The Mounties led 42-39 at halftime but trailed by 3 points heading into the 4th quarter. Third year Mountie Brad Fuller led the way with 20 points for the home side to go along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Fuller saved his best for last, connecting from the top of the arch with 11 seconds remaining to give the Mounties the lead. Brad Sanford and Alex Chisholm each chipped in with 19 points, Sanford going 4-6 from 3-point land while Chisholm connected on a long range 3 to tie the game with less than a minute remaining.
The Blue Devils got a 21 point performance from JJ Wilson while Thomas Watson added 19 points for the visitors.
The Blue Devils remain in 2nd place at 14-5 while the Mounties take sole possession of 5th place (7-10), moving two points ahead of UNBSJ.
