Hudson Johnston to join Mounties badminton program
Mounties Head Coach Michael Miller is pleased to announce that Hudson Johnston, of Saint John, New Brunswick has committed to Mount Allison’s Badminton team for the 2020-2021 season. Johnston is expected to bolster the Mounties line up and play a key role for the upcoming Badminton season.
Johnston’s badminton career started with the Saint John Junior Badminton Club, where he played six years and coached by Craig Johnston, Diane Macleod, Paul Higgins, Andrew Straight, and Jennifer Fox. This development led Johnston to capture the badminton MVP for the last three years while competing for his high school’s team from grade 9 through 11. During this time Johnston was able to capture Medals in each category he competed in, through his 2018 and 2019 campaigns. This included two NBIAA JV gold medals in 2018 for Doubles and Mixed Doubles and a NBIAA Varsity Double’s gold medal in 2019.
Johnston’s success has also been demonstrated on the Provincial and Atlantic badminton circuit, where he was a Badminton NB U17 Provincial Singles Gold Medalist. Also, he successfully achieved an Atlantics Series Championships Men’s B Doubles Gold Medal in 2019. Hudson’s versatility in all badminton categories will help our Mounties to great success in the upcoming season.
As part of the Mounties community, we are extremely happy to be welcoming Johnston for our upcoming 2020-2021 season.
Mountie Pride.
