Mounties Women's Soccer Welcomes 3 New Athletes for 2022-23 Season
The Mount Allison Mounties Women's Soccer program is pleased to announce the commitments of three key players from the Nova Scotia Provincial soccer program: Maeve Williams, Emma Tye, and Grace Pece will all be joining the Mounties for the 2022 season. “We are pleased to welcome these three outstanding young players into the Mountie family. These young student athletes are highly skilled and competitive footballers, acdemically focused and great teammates, making them all fantastic fits for Mount Allison”, commented Head Coach Gene Ouellette.
Maeve has played with the Nova Scotia Provincial program and Suburban FC for the past several years; during this time, she captained her Suburban team to an appearance at Club Nationals and has won multiple Atlantic Championships with the NS Provincial team. As a key defensive player on the soccer pitch, Maeve has great pace, defensive positioning, and vision. She is a multi-sport athlete (basketball and soccer), a long-time volunteer with the Special Olympics, and a strong student and leader.
Emma has been part of the Suburban Football Club since U13, participating in Club Nationals as a U15 player; As a member of the NS Provincial team, she was part of the squad that won four consecutive Atlantic Championships. Emma is also a multi-sport athlete, recently competing at the Ringette Nationals. On the soccer pitch, she is a technically strong, versatile player with a great work ethic and positive attitude.
Grace has been long-time key player within the United Dartmouth Football Club AAA program and has played on the NS Provincial team since the age of 12. She has attended multiple Whitecaps FC Academy combines in Vancouver and is currently part of the 2022 NS Canada Games squad preparing to head to Ontario this summer. Grace has strong technical ability and understanding of the game, which allows her to read the play and space both defensively and in possession. Moreover, she is a positive presence on and off the pitch.
