The Mount Allison Mounties had a hard loss on Saturday night against the St. Thomas Tommies with the final score being 5-0.
The Tommies started off strong with Emma Wilson scoring in the 1st period at 5:32, assisted by Olivia Reid and Aislynn Byers. Later in the period, at 10:37, Emma Pye scored unassisted making the score 2-0 for the Tommies.
The Mounties had a good hustle during the second period but were still unable to find the back of the net. Aislynn Byers opened the third period, scoring at 2:58, assisted by Megan Pardy. Continuing their scoring streak, Emma Pye with assistance from Lauren Legault and Stephanie Goertzen, scored at 6:27. The final goal of the game was made during a powerplay by Alex Woods, assisted by Aislynn Byers and Natalie Mackay at 12:51, bringing the score to 5-0.
Although the Mounties suffered a tough loss against the Tommies, goalie, Bianca Zak, was able to save 45 shots. Your Mounties play again next Friday night, October 29, against StFX.
