Danielle Alexander Joins Mounties Women’s Basketball Program for 2022-23
The Mount Allison Mounties women's basketball program is pleased to announce the commitment of Danielle Alexander who will be joining the program for the 2022-23 season. The Jacksontown, NB, native attended Woodstock High School and was a two-time New Brunswick Interscholastic Athletic Association all-star while leading her team to a 2021-2022 Final 12 AA title.
Danielle has also been part of two Basketball New Brunswick provincial teams including this summer’s under-18 team, which will represent the province at the 2022 Canada Summer Games in Niagara, ON.
"We are extremely excited to have Danielle joining our program. She has a proven record of perseverance and commitment to excellence in both the classroom and in athletics and is exactly the student athlete we are hoping to bring to Mount Allison,’’ said head coach, Ryan Chase.
Danielle will be entering the Bachelor of Science program in September. When asked about her decision to come to MtA Danielle stated “What interested me the most about Mount Allison is the close-knit community they have. From my first visit MTA was very welcoming, and I appreciate their school spirit.”
Danielle is looking forward to the new challenge ahead this fall, saying “This year I am looking forward to starting fresh on a new team, and playing a faster pace of basketball. I’m excited for this experience, and I look forward to learning. As a first-year student athlete my goals are to work hard in the classroom and on the court. I want to perform well, learn as much as I can and find my role on the team.”
Chase feels she can do just that, noting ‘We can't wait to work with Danielle this fall. Her length, athleticism, and work ethic should allow her to fit in well with our program from the start and she has the potential to have a big impact on our league.’
Please join us in welcoming Danielle to our Mounties Family!
