Mounties compete at 2022 AUS Swim Championship Day 2
The Mount Allison Mounties qualified for 19 swims on the day 2 Finals
At the end of Day 2, a total of 14 personal best times were posted by our swimmers out of 19 finalists.
Leading the night was the Bronze Medal performance by Sebastian Cariaga in the 50m freestyle (23.42 PB)
The Mounties had 9 other top performances:
Leading the men’s team was Ethan Schreer with 35 points. Schreer placed 4th in the 50m butterfly, 8th in the 50m freestyle. Sebastian Cariaga was not far behind with 31 points.
Andrew Kuiper with 24 points placed 8th in the 100m backstroke, and Haley Fitzgerald with 19 points placed 7th in the 50m butterfly for the women’s team.
Caitlin MacPherson with 20 points placed 6th in the 400m freestyle, while Paige Piche placed 8th in the 200m breaststroke.
Sarah Dessureault placed 7th for the women in the 200m butterfly.
The Women’s team finished 5th in the 800m freestyle relay while the Men’s team narrowly missed 3rd place and finished in 4th for the same event.
Overall, after 2 Days our MtA Women are in 5th place and our MtA Men crept into 4th place just ahead of UNB REDS.
