The Mount Allison Mounties defeated the UKC Blue Devils 66-62 on Sunday as part of a two win weekend for the defending ACAA Champions. On Saturday, the Mounties defeated the MSVU Mystics 88-76 on the road.
The Mounties started quick on Sunday, building a 21-8 lead after the first quarter. Kings answered back with a push of their own in the 2nd quarter and at half time the Mounties found themselves with a 29-24 lead.
Kings continued the strong play into the 3rd quarter, as they grabbed a 49-45 lead heading into the 4th quarter. A strong finish by the Mounties allowed them to erase this deficit and put the finishing touches on their 2nd straight win.
Emanual Adugna led the Mounties with 16 points on 6 of 13 shooting on the day. Sam Pierson chipped in 14 points to go along with 11 rebounds and 5 assists.
Jayden Nordin led the way for Kings with 18 points.
The Mounties return to action next Sunday, November 21st when they host Mount Saint Vincent University at 3PM.
